IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2026
The basic eligibility criteria vary according to the post. Educational qualification and post-qualification experience are considered as on 21 September 2026, the last date of online registration.
Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent. Candidates must also have proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB. Working knowledge of computers is desirable. No post-qualification experience is required.
Officer Scale-I – Assistant Manager
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent. Preference is given to candidates having degrees in areas such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy. Local-language proficiency and working knowledge of computers are also specified. No post-qualification experience is required.
Officer Scale-II – General Banking Officer
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution is required.
Officer Scale-II – Specialist Officers
The notification includes Specialist Officer posts such as : Information Technology Officer, Chartered Accountant, Law Officer, Treasury Manager, Marketing Officer, Agricultural Officer.
The educational qualifications and experience differ for each specialist post. For example, IT Officer requires a relevant Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and one year of relevant experience, while Law Officer requires a Law degree with at least 50% marks and the prescribed two years of experience.
Officer Scale-III – Senior Manager
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution is required.
