A scheme called National Means cum Merit Scholarship has been implemented for the students studying in Std. 8 with the objective of enabling bright students with poor financial status in the state to study up to Std. 12 and to reduce the drop out rate in higher secondary schools.

Education Qualification for SEB NMMS Exam Notification 2022

Students who are studying in Government Primary Schools, Local Body Schools (District Panchayat / Municipal / Nagarpalika Schools) and Granted Primary Schools in Std. 8 in the current academic year can appear for the NMMS examination.
General Category and OBC Category students should have obtained at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Std-7. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe student should have obtained at least 50% marks in Std-7.
Students of private schools (private schools / self finance schools), Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and schools run by state government institutions which provide accommodation, meals and study facilities will not be able to fill up the application form in this examination.

Income limit

Only students whose parents’ annual income does not exceed Rs. 1,50,000 can appear for this examination.
The student must attach a certified copy of the annual income sample with the NMMS application form. (Authorized by Government)

Examination Fees

GENERAL / OBC : 70 Rs.
PH / SC / ST : 50 Rs.
Service charge will have to be paid separately
Fees paid will not be refunded under any circumstances

NMMS Scholarship Payment Rules

After the examination, the students who come in merit in the district-wise quota will be given a monthly stipend of Rs. 1000 per annum. Scholarships will be available to eligible students for four years as per 12000.
Scholarships will be paid by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Government of India, New Delhi to eligible students as per the guidelines of MHRD.
Scholarships will be disbursed by MHRD directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through the National Scholarship Portal.
