SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026, commonly known as SSC CHSL 2026. The examination is being conducted for recruitment to various Group C posts, including Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), and Data Entry Operator Grade ‘A’ in Ministries, Departments and other organizations of the Government of India.
As per the official notification, the Commission has announced approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies. The final number of vacancies will be determined later after receiving and scrutinizing vacancy details from the concerned user departments.

SSC CHSL Vacancy 2026
SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026: SSC has reported approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies for the CHSL 2026 examination. However, candidates should note that this is not the final vacancy figure. The final vacancies, including post-wise and category-wise vacancy details, will be updated by SSC after scrutiny of the requirements submitted by the concerned Ministries, Departments and Organizations. SSC also states that state-wise or zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.
SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates should carefully check the educational qualification and age requirements before submitting the application.
Educational Qualification
For LDC/JSA and most DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts, candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
However, for DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Staff Selection Commission and Ministry of Culture, candidates must have passed 12th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Candidates appearing in their Class 12 examination can also apply, but they must possess the required educational qualification on or before 07 October 2026.
Age Limit
The age limit is 18 to 27 years as on 01 August 2026.
Candidates must have been born:
- Not before: 02 August 1999
- Not later than: 01 August 2008
Age relaxation is available to eligible categories according to Government of India rules.

The pay scales mentioned in the notification are:
LDC / JSA
Pay Level-2: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200
Data Entry Operator (DEO)
Pay Level-4: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100
Pay Level-5: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300
Data Entry Operator Grade ‘A’
Pay Level-4: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100
SSC CHSL Application Fee 2026
The application fee for SSC CHSL 2026 is ₹100. The following candidates are exempted from paying the examination fee : Women candidates, SC candidates, ST candidates, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), Eligible Ex-Servicemen (ESM).
Candidates who are required to pay the fee can make payment online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or RuPay Debit Card. The last date for online fee payment is 08 October 2026 up to 11:00 PM.
